Job Announcement

Assistant Director, Center for Global Education:

Reporting directly to the Director of the Center for Global Education, the Assistant Director performs duties in the three primary functional areas related to international student services, the recruitment and enrollment of international students and the promotion and recruitment of Mount Union students to participate in the College’s study abroad programs.

Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of F-1 and J-1 regulations including SEVIS reporting requirements and knowledge of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations and recent updates in immigration law.  Related skill set with other non-immigrant visa categories helpful.  Candidates must display strong verbal and written communication skills.  Cross-cultural communication competencies, the ability to speak in front of large groups, advise and problem-solve about international issues and concerns, a proven commitment to diverse perspectives, internationalization of institutional environments, and a quality work ethic expected.

Master’s degree in higher education administration, college student services administration or related field preferred. Three to five years of progressive experience in the development and implementation of international student services or study abroad related programs in higher education. Experience working in the area of international student admission helpful.  Some experience at a small residential campus is preferred.

Domestic and international travel will be required and as such, the successful candidate must substantiate federal requirements to travel internationally.

Fluency in a second and preferably a third language and international travel, study, or living experience preferred.
