Much of the work of OACAC is carried out by members of the Executive Board. There are, however, committees that also do work for the associations. Committee members are selected by the President and approved by the Executive Board. Both Associate and Voting members can serve on committees.

Budget and Finance Committee

The Budget and Finance Committee is composed of the Vice President for Finance and four OACAC members appointed by the President and approved by the Executive Board. Except for the Treasurer, members of this committee are not on the Executive Board. The Budget and Finance Committee is charged with the following:

  1. To proposed an annual budget for OACAC and present it to the Executive Board.
  2. To investigate and propose ways and means of increasing income, decreasing expenditures, and creating financial stability of OACAC as directed by the Executive Board.
  3. To review, study, and make recommendations on all of OACAC’s financial affairs and investments.
  4. Review, at least bi-annually, all areas of financial activity in an effort to promote and maintain sound fiscal management

Strategic Planning Committee

This committee is charged with developing a mission statement for OACAC and for considering our long term plans and goals. The committee met for the first time during the July 2004 OACAC conference and submitted a draft of a mission statement to the membership for review and comment. At the September 2004 Executive Board meeting a final mission statement was approved as follows:

The mission of the Overseas Association for College Admission Counseling is to facilitate global interaction among counselors and institutions in support of students in their transition from secondary to higher education.

Committee members include Chairperson Hamilton Gregg, Jack Shull, Marie Vivas, Bryan Zerbe, Craig Worthington, Gwen Martinez, Dale Ford, Joyce Agyare, and Mary Haggarty.
