ALA has a position open for a Director of Admissions and we would like to open it up to OACAC members who may be interested. The Director of Admissions will drive one of the most critical decisions at ALA: who to admit each year from the thousands who apply to ALA from across Africa. We’re looking for an excellent communicator who can clearly and passionately articulate the importance of our mission – and someone who is also an outstanding manager of people (he/she will manage up to 15 people). The job would entail significant travel across the continent, exposure to the media, working with strategic partners, ministries of education, and various entities that can lead us to finding the most incredible young leaders for Africa. It is an exciting role – the person may just be responsible for finding a future Nelson Mandela or the African Bill Gates!
