As a new service to its members, OACAC (The Overseas Association for College Admissions Counseling) will maintain a database of retired and other qualified counselors. This group will be available to fill in when overseas counselors or international admissions specialists are needed on a temporary basis, and will include professionals who have retired or chosen to work less than full time. The experience of these professionals will be an asset to the international secondary school and admissions communities.
International schools or college admissions offices may require a temporary replacement for staff who are away due to maternity leave, illness, or family needs. In addition, a school may have been unsuccessful in recruiting a college counselor and thus be interested in hiring someone for a shorter contract. A university admissions office may want additional human resources for a special program or initiative.
There will be no cost to candidates or educational institutions for this service.
- If you are interested in being included in the initial database as a “Retire-Rehire” member, please fill in this form.
- If you know of an upcoming situation in which the administrator would potentially use this service, please let me know.
- Please pass this information on to your administrative team so that they are aware of the service.
We have received positive feedback about this initiative from administrators, agencies and counselors. If you are interested in being included on this list, fill out the form as soon as you know the date you will be available. If you are an administrator interested in using this service, please send an email to Peter Hauet and a list will be sent to you. There are no charges whatsoever involved for this service. The only stipulation is that the counselor must be an OACAC member.
If you have any questions, please contact Peter Hauet.
